If you are bringing a group to a Scotland The Bread course or event and are looking for local accommodation, you may find one of these residential centres, campsites or B&Bs to suit your group and your budget.

By car or minibus: Directions to Macbiehill Farmhouse, where courses and events take place, are available here. By public transport: The nearest railway station is Waverley, Edinburgh. We are not on a bus route; the nearest stops are at Penicuik and Leadburn (West Lothian bus service) or West Linton.

Broomlee is a residential centre, owned and run by the charity Scottish Outdoor Education Centres, which can cater for very large groups. In 30 acres of grounds, it provides basic accommodation in seven cedar wood buildings. Single, twin, three, four and eight bedded rooms are available. There are also some en-suite rooms, multi-purpose rooms for large group activities and some self-catering units for those who prefer to cook for themselves.

Netherurd guiding centre is a mansion house set in 30 acres of grounds. It has recently added ‘The Village’ to its accommodation, which consists of three wooden cabins, each sleeping five people. Each cabin has lighting, electricity and bench beds with mattresses and pillows. There is shared access to a large cabin with a kitchen, and an outdoor fire pit. Accommodation offered with a local resident and his primary school aged daughter. He can accommodate a couple or a single person (in a single / double bed in a private room) in their house.
A traditional Scottish country inn with guest rooms available on the upper floor. A self-catering apartment is also available, sleeping up to six in two double bedrooms and one twin room.
Price: Rooms around £45 per person per night including bed and breakfast.
Apartment: £40 per person per night based on maximum occupancy
Cottage overlooking Slipperfield Loch with two bedrooms, a modern kitchen, sitting room, dining area, open fire and free wifi. Accommodates four people (or three, more comfortably) in one double and one twin room.
Price: £80 per night with a minimum stay of four nights
